Senior Management Accountant - Circa £35,000

Our client, a national Charity requires a strong Management Accountant for their London head office. With a strong management accounts background you will assist accurate corporate decision making and monitoring of financial performance through the production of strong management accounts.

The Management Accountants duties include:

Control the production of management accounts including budgets, forecasts and financial plans within agreed timescales
Treasury management and monitoring
Provide critical analysis of management accounts, budgets and forecasts received from divisional accountants, and ensure that all reporting is within agreed timescales
Develop the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's management accounting and performance reporting systems
Identification of key areas requiring analysis or investigation
Supervision of divisional Accountants in carrying out investigations & reporting arising from such exercises
Provide technical advice to & coordinate all divisional Accountants
Line manage the management accounts department

The ideal Management Accountants abilities:

Providing relevant analysis and interpretation of results and business plans, adopting a commercial approach and identifying key areas of risk
Develop and implement robust financial reporting
Build collaborative relationships with managers and colleagues throughout the organisation, establishing high levels of trust and co-operation
Present proposals which are logical, practical; influence others through persuasive and reasoned argument, both orally and in writing, and deal appropriately with confidential information
Motivate and coach the management accounts team to ensure relevant and timely reporting throughout the organisation, ensuring the development of team members
Propose timescales for financial reporting throughout the organisation, gain agreement and ensure that they are delivered
Facilitate the budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes throughout the organisation, ensuring that reports are designed to highlight significant budget variances

The Management Accountant should ideally:

Be Qualified (ACCA/ACA or CIMA)
Have experience of using a variety of computerised accounting packages
Have experience of managing / co-ordinating qualified accounting staff
Have experience of costing & monitoring contracts
Understand Gift Aid legislation
Understand Charity VAT legislation (or other mixed rate VAT experience)
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Programs
