Sales Ledger Clerk

Our Client, a National Children's Charity, requires an experienced Sales Ledger Clerk to join their growing team on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for efficient processing of all accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.

The Sales Ledger Clerks duties:

To input high volumes of supplier invoices and expense claims onto the purchase ledger
To process payments via BACS, direct debits and cheques
To raise sales invoices on a timely and effective basis and input onto the sales ledger
To raise and process sales and purchase credit notes
To ensure all transactions are authorised, processed accurately and are in accordance with the Society's policy and agreed payment terms
To monitor and follow up on outstanding invoices, including those with unmatched purchase orders
To deal with and resolve all purchase and sales ledger related queries, and monitor the sales and purchase ledger queries inboxes
To resolve internal customers and supplier queries.
To assist Finance Assistants with month-end and year-end tasks as required.
To assist with opening, sorting and distribution of incoming post, filing and archiving.
To prepare and assist management with various ad hoc tasks and administrative duties where necessary
To provide cover for any other finance areas or tasks as required


The Sales Ledger clerk will:

Be able to demonstrable work experience in sales ledger
Have some purchase ledger experience (preferable)
Have knowledge of processing of accounting transactions
Have strong knowledge of computer based ledger input - knowledge of Great Plains Dynamics desirable but not a requirement
Have a high degree of numerical accuracy and attention to detail
Have strong knowledge of Excel and other MS packages
