Financial Accounting Manager

Our Client, a National Children's Charity requires an experienced Financial Accounting Manager to develop and manage the Financial Accounting division to ensure that its objectives are met and that the staff are fully supported and encouraged in their roles.

The Financial Accounting Managers duties will include:

To provide financial support across all divisions
To control the production of monthly management accounts package and other regular financial reports
To work with the Corporate Accountant on the completion of the annual financial statements
To maintain the Dun &Bradstreet credit rating through efficient processing of supplier invoices and maintenance of the purchase ledger
To Manage Sales Ledger invoicing and credit control
To Manage the General Ledger and its controls
To be responsible for short / medium term cash management
To assist the Corporate Accountant to develop and maintain systems and processes for Finance in line with the business and operational needs
To be a driver in improving the future efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation
To Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations relating to the Companies Act
To be client focused, proactive and flexible in responding to the needs of clients' internal/external to the organisation

The Financial Accounting Manager will:

Be fully Qualified (ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA)
Have a high degree of numerical accuracy and attention to detail
Have strong communication skills
Have strong knowledge of Excel and other MS packages
Have experience of managing financial staff
A good all round knowledge of the finance function
Understand documentation and testing requirements to ensure that financial processes meet internal and external customer needs
Understand information systems relevant to financial management
Have SORP 2005 accounting experience (desirable)
Have the ability to develop practical and creative solutions to bring to the management of financial issues
Have the ability to work cross-functionally ensuring multiple stakeholder needs are considered
Able to set, agree and meet stretching and challenging goals and targets
Have self confidence, time management and self motivation
