Our Client, a National Children's Charity, requires an experienced Senior Finance Assistant to develop and manage the Financial Accounting, section of the Finance Department so as to ensure that its objectives are met and that a high quality service is provided to all customers
The Senior Finance Assistants duties:
Key role in supporting management in month-end and financial year-end process
Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts
Monthly general ledger control account reconciliations
Processing of monthly journals
Process BACS and cheque payment runs
On-going maintenance and control of fixed asset register
Control of petty cash floats
Statutory returns (e.g. VAT)
Provide cover for Finance Assistants
Provision of advice and explanation of finance processes to non financial staff
Assist management with ad-hoc tasks as necessary
The Senior Finance Assistant will have:
Strong communication skills
Prior experience in sales or purchase ledger processing
Experience of balance sheet control processes
AAT or equivalent experience
A levels or equivalent experience
GCSE Maths and English grade C or above
Strong knowledge of Excel and other MS packages
Computer based ledger input - knowledge of Great Plains Dynamics desirable but not a requirement
Knowledge of BACS payment operation
